Why the rate moves daily
Local rates follow international bullion prices and the rupee exchange rate. Both move continuously, so a rate quoted in the morning can be stale by evening.
Metal value is not the invoice
Your final amount includes making charges for craftsmanship and any other applicable amounts. Two shops with the same metal rate can still quote very different totals.
Purity changes the maths
22K is about 91.6% pure and 21K about 87.5%. A lower karat at the same rupee-per-gram figure is not the same value — check the karat before comparing.
